GODZILLA -0.0: Toho Announces Next Chapter in Godzilla Franchise, Yamazaki Takashi to Take Helm Once Again

Variety reported late last night that Toho has officially announced the title for its next Godzilla film, Godzilla – 0.0 (Godzilla Minus Zero).   The most recent chapter, Minus One, was a bit of thing. The film was met with critical praise, and fan-wide acceptance which resulted in massive global box office success (the highest-grossing Japanese-language film of all time in North America). A monochrome version, Godzilla Mius Color, made the rounds globally- which was amazing. Then the cream on top was an Acadamy Award win for visual effects.    And because you don’t mess with a good thing, Tamazaki Takashi is returning to write, direct, and supervise the visual effects for the new film. What a great way to start our week.    Toho has officially revealed…

Friday One Sheet: ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER

Friday One Sheet: ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER

Seizing on the final ‘set-piece’ of Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, French designer Melanie Danna created this alternate poster for the film, with the title text highlighting the ‘bumps in the road’, as it were.  Also note the text casts interesting yet subtle shadows, placing the sun at in the rear-view, and not the future. Giving it a rough, ultra-high grain, and yellow (nearly monochrome) look, it resembles both an alien planet and a low-rez Xeroxed copy of a decades-old travel photo. That is a pretty superb way to emotionally internalize the film, come to think of it. Danna’s work here is not an official one-sheet for the film, which has been playing in regular and large-format movie houses for a while now,…

HALLOW ROAD / VINCENT MUST DIE Halloween Double Feature Review

HALLOW ROAD / VINCENT MUST DIE Halloween Double Feature Review

Both films play together, exclusively at AMC Theatres, via XYZ Films, tomorrow. Visit the official site for locations and showtimes. A tragic accident, a terrified teenage girl, a pair of panicked parents, and a long lonely road in the woods feature in Iranian-British director Babak Anvari’s latest chiller, Hallow Road, premiering as part of the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival. When Alice (voiced by Mega McDonnell) disappears into the night after a fight with her parents, played by Rosamund Pike and Matthew Rhys, they are perturbed but relatively calm. However, when Alice calls and tells them that she’s been in an accident where a young girl is severely wounded, her parents spring into action, driving off in Mum’s rickety Land Rover to help. Alice is…
