The English title of this Polish farce is The Editor is Crazy, a fact that the films takes great pains to prove. Adam Brodzisz plays Antoni Dziersba, the editor of a sports magazine in dire need of funds. To raise money in a hurry, our hero cooks up a variety of zany schemes, including the aggressive pursuit of a wealthy farmer. It never dawns on Dziersba to check with his sweetheart Irena (Maria Bodga), who turns out to be a millionairess. Most of the film’s laughs are garnered by Antoni Fertner and Joseph Orwid as a pair of Scotchmen looking for wealthy wives in Poland. Both actors speak Polish with a Scots burr, definitely a movie “first”!
