In this routine documentary on Judaism and Israel, the mix of perspectives given on the Jewish nation and its function in relation to the international Jewish community does not provide much clarity. Exactly what defines a Jew and a citizen of Israel, and what rights each has in Israel — and many other questions that sound fairly straightforward — get no discernible answers in the end. Interviewees include Palestinians, soldiers, West Bank settlers, people in the Golan Heights, and others that may or may not have an understanding of the whole picture. Opinions are freely given and director Rudolf van den Berg includes segments on some Dutch Jews discussing the issues at hand. Their discussion is quite different than what is seen in Israel, so most audiences will still be in the dark after leaving the theater.
