Wisely, the famous writer/adventurer, is tricked by his friend (played by Teddy Robin Kwan, the film’s director)into helping him steal the dragon pearl. Sam Hui plays Wisely in this big budget HK movie, with production units filming some scenes by the Great Pyramids, and many scenes in Nepal. There are car chases and crashes, chases by horsemen and plenty of fights along the way. The Legend of Wisely is a live action comic book. A lot of effort went into making this movie, and it shows as Wisely goes from one hazard to another, a HK version of Indiana Jones.

A couple camping in the woods is attacked by a trio of thugs and the wife is beaten and raped. A few months after the assault, she is hunting down the three (who happen to be diamond smugglers) by posing as a dealer looking to sell some stolen merchandise. A team of scientists working to raise a sunken Russian nuclear submarine on an ocean platform off the coast of Miami, Florida, unearth an ancient Atlantean relic from the sea floor and bring in an expert to make some sense of it. But while attempting to raise the sub, radioactive leakage from its missles triggers the re-emergence of Atlantis, and the resulting tidal wave destroys the platform and leaves only a small group of survivors. Rescued by two Vietnamvets-turned-heavies who are out relaxing after their latest job, their boat eventually runs aground on a Carribean island nearby where, upon going ashore, it is discovered that everything has been destroyed and everybody killed. The culprits, a vicious group of well-armed raiders, and their leader, Crystal Skull, are descendants of Atlantis’ original race who set about reclaiming the world and adding the survivors to the list of victims as they struggle to stay alive and defeat the raiders and send Atlantis back to the ocean floor.

This action thriller from Hong Kong begins with Princess Rawleen (Mandy Moore) having to rush back home after her father (the king) dies unexpectedly and cannot finish a major deal with the U.S. Rawleen gets sidetracked when her jet is sabotaged, and she ends up at the mansion of a friend where she is kidnapped. The hero, a CIA agent named Jack Sargeant (Bruce Baron) sets out to find her with the help of the Dragon Force, an international, underground, crime-fighting unit headed by a karate expert (Bruce Li). The hapless Princess cannot become unkidnapped until the heroes have kicked and chopped the competition down to zero, a feat which takes up much of the 100-minute running time.
