The Invisible Forest
Inspired by the imaginative works of French playwright Antonin Artaud and heavily influenced by Arthur Rimbaud’s poetics of delirium for the “deliberate disorientation of the senses”, filmmaker Antero Alli’s surrealistic film traces the experiences of a sleep deprived theater director who resorts to hypnotic regression in hopes of stopping a recurring nightmare. In the process, the theater director inadvertently begins participating in an archaic and transcendent dreamtime ritual that leads him directly into the labyrinths of madness.
